We just returned from Bermuda last week, and I miss it already.  We went with a group of about 20 people.  It was fun as a group, but can be difficult to get everyone together at the same time.  The ship was awsome. It is an older ship and smaller than most new ones but I would go on it again anytime.  The staff was excellent!!!  I miss our room attendant Avionn and our waiters Dean and marijon.  We stayed in room 8612 which is on the 8th floor in the middle of the ship. we had a oceanview room which is enough for 2. everyone says its too small but i didnt mind the space.

The first day at sea was rough.  Most people were getting sick (including myself)  I recommend the original dramamine.  the stuff they sell on the ship doesn't work well.  I felt like crap and was regreting taking a cruise. but after i took the medicine and a short nap i was ready to go. Monday evening was formal nite, but there were a lot of empty seats. It was a good nite overall. make sure you get all the pictures taken that you can.

I didn't care for any of the comedians on the ship. kind of dry humor.  The best entertainment was "the quest" which you have to do (make sure you have a good team) I have never laughed so hard in my life.  I cant tell you anymore details except for go see it.
Also the love and marriage game (aka newlywed game) was funny
Rico the cruise director is really great, and  very funny

Bermuda is beautiful. we arrived Tuesday and hopped on a bus and headed to crystal caves.  a must do, as long as you dont mind climbing stairs. stopped by the swizzle inn on the way out.

We always ate on the ship for dinner, but tried something in every town we could. the food on the island is a bit pricy but we expected that and it was very good food.

Wednesday we docked in hamilton early. We decided to rent a moped and drove all over the island.  A definate must if you want to really get an idea of the island life, as long as your not afraid to drive on left side of the road.  we drove to the south shore and ended up at horseshoe bay beach.on the ride home we stopped by elbow beach. the public side is not that nice, but we somehow made it into the resort entrance which was a bit nicer. not a must see like horseshoe bay is.

Thursday our snorkling tour was canceled.  we were going to go with jesse james tours, which is right across the street from the boat docked in hamilton.  It is family owned and operated and jill was very friendly and helpful even though we didnt get to go.
Instead we rented a boat. first we took the fast ferry to the navel dockyard and then hopped on a bus to the sommerset bridge and found a nice place to rent boats for the day.  We found an island and threw down the anchor.  in the evening we headed out to the niteclubs and bars in hamilton.  very small but as a group we had a good time.

We left bermuda on friday. a lot smoother ride. Had another formal night on friday, and headed back to new york. We mostly stayed in the casinos at nite.  we arrived in new york early sunday morning (6:00am) and were off the boat by 9:00am.

if anyone has any questions about the nordic empress or bermuda feel free to e-mail me at qt521@netscape.net
ps sorry for any typo's
