The Florida Everglades

Interstate 75 crosses the Everglades between
Ft. Lauderdale and Naples, Florida.

This quiet canal is teeming with wildlife...

...and is a popular fishing spot.

But, don't stick your toes in the water!

Beneath these calm waters are...

...the creatures that give this stretch of highway its name:

Alligator Alley.

We saw many of these graceful creatures
up close and personal...

as they looked for lunch,

"hung out" along the banks waiting for lunch to come to them,

and selected something yummy from the menu.

Then...WOOSH! This one was gone.
